Let's start with this...There is nothing that taste better after a wedding than hot French fries and a big burger. Actually, if I could get a large glass of Pinot Noir on the side of that juicy burger and French fry goodness then we'd really be talking. But drinking and driving is usually frowned upon and there's no way I would wait until I was home to down every last crumb of my late night In'n'Out. So when I reached out to Charlotte and Hayden about this shoot I was coming off of a long 10 hour wedding and I had burger on the mind and so I suggested our first location be the ever glorious In'n'Out burger and they were down.
We started with French fries and sunshine and ended our session cuddling some kittens and playing with pyrotechnics on a driveway. My goal for this couples session was to prove that you don't need an epic view or perfect flowy dress to have photo's that are a reflection of who you are. I think I nailed it but I'm sure my opinion doesn't matter to most of you. While there is definitely nothing wrong with an epic view (trust me that's my jam) I wanted to challenge myself and the norm and do something different. I like different....like a lot. I told Charlotte to pick out clothes she already had and we would work with the environment around us and real life things that they already owned.
So, if you take anything from this I hope you take this: French fries can be the sexy and boring driveways have amazing lighting. And sometimes having no real set plan is the best plan. Also, I want to say thank you to Hayden and Charlotte for not only going along with whatever I came up with but for being absolutely kind, fun and disgustingly in love. You two are my kind of people and I can't wait to photograph you again.
I hope you enjoy this little look at something different.
